Process and Standards Group (PSG)

Providing detailed Governance of the evolution of Criterion Standards.

Progress this Month:

The PSG met on 10 and 11 May. Input papers and full minutes are available to those who have access.

The PSG’s annual project prioritisation exercise is now under way, with the deadline for submitting priorities set for 15 July. Again, full details are available to those who have access.

Standards Technical Architecture Group (STAG)

Providing technical Governance to Criterion Standards.

Progress this Month:

  • No STAG business currently in progress.

Future Milestones:

  • Criterion will continue to liaise with the STAG on the technical direction of Standards, and how the emergence and adoption of new technologies will shape their future.

Standards Activities

Letter of Authority Standards Development

Development project to develop Standards to support the Letter of Authority fulfilment process for DB, DC pensions, annuities, protection and investment products.

Progress this Month:

  • Phase 3 – Protection: XML version LoA Protection Standards were published to the industry at draft A.
  • Phase 4 – LoA Request: Work on the technical stages of LoA Request Standards Development are in progress.

Future Milestones:

  • July: Await confirmation from Working Group if demand exists for OpenAPI and JSON versions of LoA Protection Standards.
  • July: Following the sign off of the candidate design the plan is to continue with the technical development stage of LoA Request Standards.

Occupation Codes List 2020 Update Implementation

Supporting industry adoption of the revised Occupation Codes Standard used in quotations and new business processes.

Progress this Month:

  • Criterion shared details of the proposed implementation window and arranged a further meeting to confirm the approach.

Future Milestones:

  • July: A further meeting will be arranged to confirm the implementation approach.

Group Risk Quotes

Standards Development project to develop Standards for Group Risk Quotes (GRQ) and Rate Review or Re-Pricing.

Progress this Month:

  • A final draft of the updated BRD was issued for a final review and sign-off. Work was carried out on the candidate design stage of the project.

Future Milestones:

  • July: The candidate design for GRQ GLA for new provider will be completed and published to the working group for review before the end of July.

BAU Change Requests

  • FCA Reference Number changes.
  • FIT Data Pattern changes.
  • Quotes New Business Protection CRs

Progress this Month:

  • FIT Data Patterns changes (including FCA reference changes) completed and Provisional version published.
  • PSG meeting held on Enhanced CIC CR – recommendation to include as activity in PSG prioritisation.
  • Solution identified for smoker questions in Quotes New Business Protection Standard

Future Milestones:

July:

  • Continue finalisation process for Quotes New Business Standards that were updated with FCA reference changes in Apr/May 2021.
  • Publish solution for smoker questions in Quotes New Business Protection Standard.
