Process and Standards Group (PSG)

Providing detailed Governance of the evolution of Criterion Standards.

Progress this Month:

The PSG met on 18 August to discuss project priorities for the following 12 months.  The Group is recommending a plan that is a hybrid of two presented as possible options.  The recommendation will be considered by the Standards and Governance Executive at its September meeting.

Standards and Technical Architecture Group (STAG)

Providing technical Governance to Criterion Standards.

Progress this Month:

Further development of Criterion’s approach to extending technology support for Standards into JSON and OpenAPI.

Future Milestones:

Continued involvement in JSON & OpenAPI activities.

Standards Activities

Letter of Authority Standards Development

Development Project to develop Standard to support the Letter of Authority fulfilment process for DB, DC Pensions, Annuities, Protection and Investment Products.

Progress this Month:

Phase 3 – Protection

LoA Protection Fulfilment BRD Draft B  and Data Examples published to Working Group for review.

Phase 4 – LoA Request

PSG approved the next phase of the LoA Development project – LoA Request.

Future Milestones:

September: Logical Modelling to be completed followed by commencement of the XML Standards development.

September: LoA Request phase to be commenced with publication of LoA Request Overview document to be followed up by an LoA Request Working Group kick-off meeting.

Occupation Codes List 2020 Update Implementation

Supporting industry adoption of the revised Occupation Codes Standard used in quotations and new business processes.

Progress this Month:

A meeting was held on 24 August to discuss implementation of the v3.0 Occupation Codes List.  The Working Group agreed that they need to start communicating with their implementation partners to influence implementation activity.

Future Milestones:

September: Working Group members to contact the Providers they work with.

Next meeting will be held on 14 October 2021.

Group Risk Quotes

Standards Development project to develop Standards for Group Risk Quotes and Rate Review or Re-Pricing.

Progress this Month:

Data Analysis continues with good engagement from Working Group.  Weekly workshops have been held to perform a deep dive into GRQ Non-Member Data and a High Level Domain Model has been agreed with the Working Group.

Future Milestones:

September: Further meeting organised for 8 September with the Working Group to complete the deep-dive exercise; BRD documentation will commence.

BAU Change Requests

Bulk Valuation enhancements FCA Reference number changes.

Progress this Month:

  • Work relating to Bulk Valuation enhancements continues.
  • No activity this month in relation to FCA Reference CRs.

Future Milestones:

October: Publish Bulk Valuation v1.1 Provisional Build 2.

COVID-19 Update

The Criterion Team continues to work from home successfully in response to the current COVID-19 situation.

We are well placed to continue with our Standards commitments whilst recognising that operational constraints may make it harder for Working Group Members and other interested parties to engage with us fully.  We will continue with our deliveries and keep the PSG and other interested parties updated regarding any unavoidable impact.
