From underpinning millions of mission-critical transactions to supporting cutting-edge responses to policy innovation, Criterion delivers standards and governance services that support better customer engagement with investments, savings and protection.

Customer-first technology demands customer-first thinking.

Leading investment platforms, product providers, insurers and re-insurers rely on Criterion to manage the Origo Standards Library that underpins millions of customer-facing transactions every week. Whether helping customers to get faster and more accurate life insurance quotations, to apply for investment products more simply, or to stay in touch with savings through automated valuation and transaction reporting, Criterion’s approach keeps the customer at the heart.

But technology alone can’t deliver industry-wide collaboration. Criterion understands the broader legal, regulatory and risk landscape that has to be navigated in order for companies to work together for the benefit of the customer.

In addition to data integration standards, Criterion develops and maintains:

  • legal standards that create a repeatable framework for data exchange;
  • governance structures that support cross-industry working whilst managing intellectual property, competition and licensing risks;
  • and process standards that eliminate unnecessary steps.

Pensions Dashboard prototype:

Customer-centric standards at population scale.

The Pensions Dashboard prototype was announced in the 2016 Budget, and aims to help all pension savers in the UK see all their pension savings together in a single place. The Pensions Dashboard Prototype Project was launched in September 2016 by the Economic Secretary to the Treasury as an important step towards delivering services by 2019 that will help reunite savers with an estimated £400bn of unclaimed pensions.

The Criterion team were delighted to be asked to deliver the integration standards needed to support the seamless interoperation of components from the Project’s six Development Partners.

The result was the on-time launch of the Project into its Demonstration phase, bringing to life the delivery of customer-centric pension information – at population scale.
